Mr. Guy Yachin, Founder, CEO and Board Member |

Mr. Yachin has an exceptional track record in creating and nurturing successful companies, and has worked with over 20 biomedical startups in the last five years. Among the companies Guy helped to establish are Remon, Enzymotech and MGVS.
Mr. Yachin is former CEO of the Naiot Technological Center, a subsidiary of the Ofer Brothers multinational conglomerate. The Naiot Technologcial Center is a high-tech launching pad dedicated to establishing early stage innovative technological companies while providing them with the capabilities needed for becoming viable business entities. During Mr. Yachin's tenure, Naiot evolved to become the largest and the most acknowledged Technological Center in Israel, founding several of the most prominent start-up companies established in the country in the late 1990’s. Naiot was chosen by the Office of the Chief Scientist as the top technological center in Israel for five consecutive years (1999-2004). Mr. Yachin holds a BSc. in Industrial Engineering and Management and a MBA from the Technion, the Israeli Institute of Technology.

Dr. Paul (Kip) Martha, Executive VP R&D |

Dr. Martha joined Chiasma in March of 2007 from Shire Human Genetic Therapies (formerly Transkaryotic Therapies, Inc.) in Cambridge, MA where he served as Chief Medical Officer and Senior Vice President of Clinical Affairs for the previous three years. He began the industry portion of his industry career in 1993 when he moved from the faculty of Tufts School of Medicine to lead Genentech’s clinical programs on human growth hormone. During the next several years at Genentech, Kip assumed increasing levels of management responsibility until leaving in 1998 to become Vice President of Clinical Research at Praecis Pharmaceuticals. In 2001 he became Chief medical and Regulatory Officer at Interleukin Genetics, a pharmacogenomics-based company in Waltham, MA. Dr. Martha received his fellowship training in pediatric endocrinology at the University of Virginia medical Center, his MD from the University of Connecticut and a BS in Biology from Trinity College.

Mr. Cesan is the former president and chief operating officer of Schering Plough Corporation, a $9.8 billion global pharmaceutical and research conglomerate with operations in more than 100 countries. During his twenty-five year career at Schering Plough Corp., Mr. Cesan served as the president of Schering Plough Worldwide Pharmaceuticals, Schering Labs (US Pharmaceutical Operations) and Schering Plough International. He was also the president of the Company’s European Operations and Canada as well as the general manager of Schering Plough Brazil and Schering Plough Columbia. Mr Cesan currently serves on the Board of Directors of The New York Time Company as well as on the Board of Trustees of The College of Saint Elizabeth in New Jersey. Mr Cesan is also an honorary member of the Children's Specialized Hospital Board of Trustees.

Mr. Doppelt has been with Ofer HT from its inception in 1997, defining its vision and formulating its methodology. He serves as an active board member for Yozma Venture Capital ($170M under management), and is actively involved in numerous investments within the Israeli high-tech arena. Mr. Doppelt has led several exit deals and has extensive experience in exit management and has been actively involved in the activities of portfolio companies including MGVS (cell therapy), Tevet (Microelectronics), and Coreflow (Semicon). He is also an active chairman for Enzymotech (industrial biotechnologies). Since 1996, Mr. Doppelt has held various finance and managerial positions in the Ofer Brothers Group. He has served as a director in Tower Semiconductors (Nasdaq: TSEM) and IMIIsrael Chemical's R&D Institution.

Dr. Ansbert Gadicke is the Founder and a General Partner of the MPM Group. He led MPM's effort to build its Advisory and Investment Banking business from 1992 to 1996 and started its Asset Management business in 1996. Prior to founding MPM, Dr. Gadicke was employed by The Boston Consulting Group. Dr. Gadicke received an M.D. from J.W. Goethe University in Frankfurt. He subsequently held research positions in biochemistry and molecular biology at the Whitehead Institute at MIT, Harvard University and the German Cancer Research Center. He has published in leading scientific publications including Nature and Cell. Dr. Gadicke is a Director of Arriva, Cerimon Pharmaceuticals, Elixir, Nuvios, Pharmasset, PharmAthene, and Xanodyne. He previously served as a Director of BioMarin (NASDAQ:BMRN), Coelacanth, Idenix Pharmaceuticals (NASDAQ:IDIX), Kourion, MediGene (Frankfurt:MDG), Omrix Biopharmaceuticals, Viacell (NASDAQ:VIAC) and TransForm. He is a member of Advisory Councils for Harvard Medical School and the Whitehead Institute at MIT. He serves as the Co-Chairman of the Alumni Association of the Whitehead Institute and serves on the Board of the National Venture Capital Association (NVCA).

Bard Geesaman, MD, PhD, is a director at F2 Ventures and is head of clinical development at Elixir Pharmaceuticals. He is also on the board of Bioscale, a Cambridge based technology company developing a "best in class" diagnostic platform for physicians. His career has bridged the fields of computer engineering, computational biology and clinical medicine, and he is the author of several publications in these fields. After graduating first in his class at the University of California, Berkeley, he received a Ph.D. in Computational Neurobiology at MIT and an M.D. from Harvard medical School. Graduating from medical school in 1997, Dr. Geesaman completed a Clinical Fellowship in Internal Medicine at the Massachusetts General Hospital and became board certified in Internal Medicine in 2000. Following residency, Dr. Geesaman founded Catalyst Medical Solutions, and eHealth company providing ASP solutions for medical documentation and charge capture. In 2002 he was recruited into the management team at Centagenetix before the company merged with Elixir in 2003.

Dalia Megiddo, MD, MBA, is the Managing Partner of the InnoMed fund, which focuses on early stage life science investments. Dr. Megiddo has a rich background in life science entrepreneurship and investing. Prior to joining Jerusalem Global Ventures, she served as a consultant to numerous venture capital funds. An entrepreneur by nature, in 1987, Dr. Megiddo founded the Israeli medical audio magazine The Journal Club; and in 1994 she founded Academia Medica, a well known multimedia medical teaching program. Dr. Megiddo received her MD from the Hebrew University, and an MBA from the Kellog-Recanati International Executive MBA Program at Tel Aviv University and Northwestern University.

Mr. Scott Minick |

Scott Minick is a Managing Director with ARCH, joining the firm as a Venture Partner in 1998. Mr. Minick has been instrumental in the start-up, development and financing of several life sciences portfolio companies and currently serves as a board member at Achaogen, Amphora Discovery, Sorbent Therapeutics, Optobionics, FastTrack Systems, and MedVantx. Mr. Minick formerly served as Chairman of Xcyte Therapies (XCYT) through its IPO in 2004 and as Executive Chairman of Amphora Discovery. From 1995 until 1998, Mr. Minick was director, President and Chief Operating Officer of SEQUUS Pharmaceuticals, a fully integrated, public biopharmaceutical company. From 1994 to 1995, he served as a director, President and CEO of OncoTherapeutics, a private biotechnology company. Prior to that, Mr. Minick co-founded and was a director, President and CEO of LXR Biotechnology from startup through its IPO. From 1981 to 1993, he was an executive of Baxter Healthcare, holding leadership positions in device, service and diagnostics businesses. He received his postgraduate training in neurobiology at the Salk Institute, his M.B.A. from Northwestern University, and his B.A. with Honors from University of California at San Diego. |
